The Communications Project Manager helps to manage a large portfolio of projects for BYU-Pathway’s Communications team which specializes in content, design, public relations, and messaging. The project manager is expected to create the structure and planning necessary for projects to move forward effectively. In addition to these daily tasks, the project manager also oversees graduation efforts and some event planning. A critical aspect of this position is stakeholder management, which includes understanding, coordinating, and managing client and resource team expectations. The stakeholders and clients are primarily internal, as such, it will be important that this position can manage relationships, building trust throughout the organization. The project manager needs to be expert in scope, time, and cost management. They are also expected to provide regular reports on team capacity, project completion, and other related data. They should be able to communicate realistic and achievable completion dates. The ideal candidate will be able to keep a level head in high-stress situations, see clearly the road forward, understand priorities, and encourage collaboration. They will also be able to evaluate competing demands, communicate constraints, and ensure all parties have the necessary information to move the work forward.
