Communications & Marketing Intern (Summer 2027)
About The Position
Axiom Space is seeking a passionate, high-energy Communications & Marketing Intern to support an active communications and marketing team on a temporary, project-based basis. The intern will learn from and be mentored by communications and marketing professionals while supporting the development and delivery of content that tells Axiom Space’s story to customers, partners, media, employees, and the public. The role calls for strong writing, organizational, time-management, and communication skills, as well as curiosity about how a technical, mission-driven company communicates about human spaceflight and commercial space. The internship is onsite at Axiom Space in Houston, Texas, from June 1 to August 20, 2027. Interns are responsible for arranging their own transportation and accommodations. The work generally takes place in an office, but may involve indoor or outdoor work depending on the task. Evening and weekend work may be required as needed to meet critical project milestones.
Requirements
- Be a rising junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Have prior internship, co-op, or hands-on project experience.
- Demonstrate strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Have strong verbal and interpersonal skills and comfort working with cross-functional teams.
- Show passion for space and the mission.
- Demonstrate an entrepreneurial, growth mindset.
- Demonstrate high emotional intelligence and an ability to collaborate within teams and cross-functionally.
- Be skilled at using systems and tools to work smarter and faster.
- Demonstrate accountability, technical rigor, execution discipline, and pride of delivery.
- Be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.
- Meet any applicable export-control screening requirements to access controlled technical data or technology.
Responsibilities
- Support social media strategy by drafting platform-specific content, tracking engagement metrics, and recommending improvements.
- Draft supporting materials, including one-pagers, fact sheets, presentation text, video scripts, and speaker talking points.
- Write, edit, and format employee newsletters, intranet updates, and leadership announcements.
- Track news coverage, industry trends, and competitor activity, and pitch content ideas based on trending topics.
- Support telling the Axiom Space story in digital and video formats, including produced content, live feeds, and webcasts.
- Revise copy, images, and links across the company website, social profiles, and other digital platforms to keep information accurate, current, and on-brand.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
