About The Position

International Justice Mission (IJM) is seeking a Communications Intern to support program and advancement staff across the Africa and Europe region for the 2027 Spring Internship class. This role will assist with a variety of project management tasks for regional communications initiatives, including managing community of practice scheduling, supporting speaker trainings, intranet site management and development, process improvement, and ad hoc creative assignments such as writing, copyediting, and graphic design. The intern will also participate in departmental and general IJM administrative support. This position can be fully in-person or hybrid in the Washington, DC area, or remote for non-local candidates. Interns receive a monthly stipend, which is not an hourly wage.

Requirements

  • Completed at least two years of undergraduate study by the start of their internship
  • At least one prior professional internship experience or significant leadership experience in extracurricular, campus, volunteer, or community-based organizations
  • Ability to commit to a schedule consistent with the required time commitment (20, 30, or 40 hours per week during standard business hours)
  • Experience in project management or process implementation
  • Experience with intranet site management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
