About The Position

International Justice Mission (IJM) is seeking a Communications Intern to join the 2027 Spring Internship class. The Communications Intern will support program and advancement staff across the Africa and Europe region. The intern will assist with a variety of project management tasks for regional communications initiatives, as well as support writing, copyediting, and graphic design. This position can be fully in-person or hybrid in the Washington, DC area, or remote for non-local candidates. The role reports to the Regional Director, Communications & Marketing, Africa Europe and requires 20-40 hours per week during standard business hours (8:30 am-5:30 pm EST). Interns receive a monthly stipend to help defray expenses, which is not considered wages.

Requirements

  • Completed at least two years of undergraduate study by the start of the internship
  • At least one prior professional internship experience or significant leadership experience in extracurricular, campus, volunteer, or community-based organizations
  • Ability to commit to a schedule consistent with the required time commitment (20, 30, or 40 hours per week during standard business hours)
  • Experience in project management or process implementation
  • Experience with intranet site management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Managing regional community of practice scheduling and meeting follow up
