About The Position

The Communications Fellow will be responsible for expanding the Communications Department's "Water Fountain Conversations" campaign. This campaign involves placing advertising that promotes CFPUA's Clearly Better Drinking Water at water fountains and bottle fill stations. The Fellow will identify potential advertising locations at businesses and institutions within CFPUA's service area, design advertisements tailored to those locations, and create proposals for CFPUA's leadership. Advertising may include printed and digital materials, video produced in partnership with CFPUA's paid community outreach vendor (WECT), a tie-in social media campaign, and other components as proposed by the Fellow.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a current Master of Arts in Integrated Marketing Communications or recent graduate.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential locations to host CFPUA's advertising at water fountains and bottle fill stations.
  • Make contact with those sites to determine costs and terms of an advertising partnership.
  • Design and produce advertising custom to that location (e.g., ads hosted on the campus of UNCW could highlight the partnership between CFPUA's laboratory and faculty and students in the NC PFAST Network).
  • Create advertising proposals to be presented to CFPUA's leadership.
  • Produce social media content.
  • Support at community outreach events.
  • Work with CFPUA's departments to highlight staff and operations in customer newsletter, paid community outreach, and other formats.
