About The Position

The Communications Engineer will apply electrical engineering knowledge to design and integrate Proliferated Low Earth Orbit (PLEO) and communication systems. The role supports the acquisition Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process for PLEO communications systems and helps translate Mission Systems requirements into improvements to system performance across a variety of platforms.

Working with existing teams and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), the engineer will help address current challenges, develop and integrate upgrades, and incorporate advanced technologies into existing platforms. The role also involves augmenting designs and algorithms to improve system performance and support future technologies in the PLEO communications discipline. The position is onsite in Patuxent River, Maryland, and requires an active Secret or Top Secret clearance.

Requirements

• Experience in radar systems.
• Knowledge of systems integration challenges.
• Ability to work with a team of engineers to modify designs and improve system integrations to enhance warfighter capabilities.
• Active Secret clearance or higher; an active Secret or Top Secret clearance is required.
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with modern Navy PLEO communications systems.
• Experience with the SETR process.
• Knowledge of contracting mechanisms and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) reporting.
• Ability to analyze PLEO communications designs and provide technical input to improve performance and ease of integration.
• Top Secret clearance.
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities
