About The Position

The Airport Communications Center Operator is assigned to the Airport Communications Center (ACC), which is a 24/7 operation and serves as the central communications point for the airport community. ACC Operator job duties include, but are not limited to, monitoring and operating multiple computer systems such as the access control system, CCTV security cameras, two-way radios, mass notification system, etc. Assist in control of daily operations of the airport; assist with ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local airport safety and security regulations; disseminate airport operations information; dispatch personnel during emergencies involving aircraft accidents, bomb threats, civil disturbance, air piracy, structural fires, radiological incidents, natural disasters, fire alarms and personal injuries; monitor security system; monitor fire alarm system; monitor and retrieve weather information; update airport identification access badges and vehicle. Maintains daily dispatch logs and light clerical work. Utilizes NCIC to verify data on warrants/wants for police personnel. Must react quickly and calmly in emergency situations; transmit messages clearly and accurately via telephone and radio.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three (3) years general office experience or one (1) year experience as a security surveillance operator.
  • Attention to detail to avoid errors.
  • Ability to hear.
  • Ability to speak clearly.
  • Ability to see with corrected vision.
