Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Three–five years of experience in communications, social media management, multimedia production, or similar roles.
  • Statewide travel is required for the position.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in content development, digital communications, and social media management
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to interpret analytics to develop data-informed strategies
  • Proficiency in graphic design
  • Proficiency with video recording and editing tools
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, MailChimp, and WordPress
  • Familiarity with ADA compliance standards for digital content and design
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate across teams
  • An understanding of how the Pennsylvania General Assembly operates—and the basics of the legislative process—is beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Develop copy, design graphics, produce videos, and create multimedia materials for social media, internal messaging, and external communications efforts
  • Develop and maintain a monthly social media calendar and manage online posting workflows
  • Compile monthly social media insights; identify, develop, and implement strategies to expand engagement and digital reach based on analytics
  • Collaborate with Workforce Development to develop content for LinkedIn, employee profiles, and other materials; record, edit, and produce videos for the 'On The Menu' blog series
  • Support the communications team in producing news events and outreach efforts; develop and distribute news releases, media advisories, and other content as appropriate
  • Work with Communications, Workforce, and Digital teams to ensure consistent messaging; provide backup support for internal and external websites when needed
