About The Position

SRC is seeking an Analyst III and Communications Specialist to support our Department of War customer located at the Pentagon. The Analyst will report directly to senior government officials in performance of their duties. The Analyst will support those executive government customers with thoughtful and accurate research, analysis, and product development. In addition, they will provide formal and informal communications for Department of War and external stakeholders including department-wide memoranda, briefings, and whitepapers; correspondence with other government agencies including Congress; and for industry engagements. Under general direction of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Prototyping and Experimentation, provide project and program analysis; strategic messaging development (briefs, papers, studies, and Congressional materials); Congressional action tracking; and administrative assistance requiring the regular use of sound judgment, initiative and independent action Product must be targeted to different sectors of a wide audience, including Department of War senior leaders, Congress, foreign allies and partners, defense industry and the public Working on critical Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (USW(R&E)) priorities such as joint rapid experimentation, the Mission Engineering & Integration Activity, and prototype programs in munitions, counter-unmanned aerial systems, electronic warfare Interacting with all levels of the organization and key customers, including political appointees, SES and Flaging Officers, and defense industry partners with a high level of tact and diplomacy Assisting with front office operations and visitors and providing information as needed, requiring a comprehensive knowledge of Office of the Secretary of War missions, policies and operations Performing data analysis on top-level program metrics, to include performance and budget, to support executive decision makers Composing responses to routine inquiries and assists the Director in communication with subordinates Following administrative, confidential, and sensitive data guidelines and records management Utilizing generative AI to support timely analysis and to develop written products Providing graphic and presentation support, and editing of other author's documentation

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret SCI Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Public Administration, Legislative Affairs, Political Science, or a related field
  • 5 years of relevant professional experience in communications
  • Experience in the development, drafting, editing, publishing, distribution, coordination of various communication deliverables, to include information papers, guidance memorandums, policies, technical reports, congressional reports, annual reports, and responses to media inquiries, briefing cards, and presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with and elicit information from engineers and other technical subject matter experts
  • Demonstrated ability to locate primary sources
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize disparate data points into a focused message
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences
  • Experience tracking project progress to plan
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and as a member of a team
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on all aspects of team priorities
  • Ability to work with a wide range of contributors, to include engineers, subject matter experts, functional teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work within tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including copy editing experience
  • Ability to design and produce high-quality products and documents
  • Familiarity with Office of the Secretary of War and Department of War writing styles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency creating charts, tables, and infographics
  • Familiarity with the Office of the Secretary of War’s Correspondence and Task Management System
  • U.S. Citizenship
