About The Position

The Aerospace Corporation is hiring a Communication Architectures Modeling and Analysis Engineering Undergraduate Intern for its Communication Architectures Department (CAD) within the Mission Payloads Division (MPD). The position is full-time and 100% onsite at the company’s office in El Segundo, California. The internship is available to a currently enrolled undergraduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related discipline and requires at least 10 weeks of full-time availability outside the university term, followed by a return to full-time study. Training and mentorship will be provided, and assignments may involve simultaneous projects. CAD performs trade studies, analyses, and simulations to optimize communications performance across terrestrial, satellite, launch vehicle, and ground-based systems; supports spectrum regulations and policies; and develops RF communications prototypes, particularly involving commercial LEO satellite systems. The intern will analyze communication systems and architectures, develop evaluation tools, assess satellite and ground systems, links, and wireless network protocols, and gain hands-on experience designing, constructing, and evaluating prototype RF systems. Work products are documented in briefings or technical reports for customers and colleagues. The role requires strong communication, teamwork, organization, time-management, project-management, adaptability, and interpersonal skills. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. The hourly pay range is $25.00–$30.00. Temporary housing assistance is not available.
