About The Position

The Aerospace Corporation is hiring a Communication Architectures Modeling and Analysis Engineering Grad Intern for the Communication Architectures Department (CAD) within the Mission Payloads Division (MPD). The position is full-time and 100% onsite in El Segundo, California. CAD performs trade studies, analyses, and simulations to optimize communications performance across terrestrial, satellite, launch vehicle, and ground-based systems; supports spectrum regulations and policies; and develops RF communications prototypes, particularly involving commercial LEO satellite systems. The intern will analyze communication systems and architectures, develop evaluation tools, assess satellite and ground systems, communication links, and wireless network protocols, and gain hands-on experience designing, constructing, and evaluating prototype RF systems. Work products will be documented in customer and colleague briefings or technical reports. Tasking may vary and include simultaneous projects. Training and mentorship will be provided. Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university advanced-degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or another STEM-related discipline. The internship requires full-time availability for at least 10 weeks outside the university term and the ability to return to full-time study afterward. A minimum GPA of 3.0 and transcripts are required. The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
