The Health and Human Services Agency is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Communicable Disease Investigator. This role involves performing non-criminal investigations, counseling, and education regarding communicable diseases. Investigators must understand, interpret, and work within public health laws, rules, and regulations that govern HIV disease, sexually transmitted diseases, tuberculosis, and other communicable or infectious diseases. The ideal candidate will be able to quickly develop rapport with a diverse range of individuals, discussing highly sensitive topics including medical and personal information such as sexual history and practices, to conduct thorough investigations and interviews. Public Health Services is dedicated to community wellness and protecting health in San Diego County, working to prevent disease spread, outbreaks, environmental hazards, and injuries, while promoting healthy behaviors, responding to disasters, and assuring the quality and accessibility of health services.
