The New Jersey Judiciary, Burlington Vicinage, is seeking individuals with strong customer service, self-management, interpersonal and oral communication skills to work in Probation, Child Support Enforcement. Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2b (Probation Division Manager), Court Executive 1b (Assistant Probation Division Manager) and other supervisory personnel, the selected individual will monitor a caseload of approximately 700 active child support cases. The selected candidate will apply their strong attention to detail and technology application skills to prioritize cases and resolve case issues that deal with the collection and disbursement of court ordered child support, spousal support and alimony, terminations and emancipations, credits and income withholdings. The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access. Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.

Requirements

  • Two years of paraprofessional experience in casework involving the collection of facts, securing and verifying socioeconomic data, obtaining information by observing conditions, examining records, interviewing individuals, and/or preparing investigative reports of findings.
  • Candidates selected to serve in a bilingual variant title must pass the New Jersey Civil Service Commission Bilingual Communicative Ability Test (BICAT) performance examination or provide proof of having established bilingual proficiency with the New Jersey Civil Service Commission.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicants may substitute semester hour credits from an accredited college or university for the required experience on a year-for-year basis with 30 semester hour credits being equal to one year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Confer with the Family Division and Welfare staff to resolve complicated issues
  • Generate appropriate and correct financial notes to both the local Finance Division and the State Disbursement Unit
  • Respond to client inquiries and walk-in customers who may have difficult and challenging issues
  • Advise judges on case issues
  • Refer cases for enforcement actions
  • Collect court-ordered payments
  • Review cases in accordance with existing laws, regulations or professional practices
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • If you are selected to serve in a bilingual variant title you must be able to perform the above applicable duties in both English and Spanish.

Benefits

  • The salary range for this position is $48,423.30 to $91,649.93 for Schedule A, and $48,423.30 to $82,047.30 for Schedule B.
