About The Position

The Commissioning Subject Matter Expert – Controls sets the commissioning discipline standard across IREN’s regions and sites. This program-level senior individual-contributor role reports to the Director, Data Center Commissioning and supports the organization rather than a single project. The role owns IREN’s controls commissioning specifications, acceptance criteria, and standards for approving Commissioning Authority test scripts; serves as a technical escalation point for campus commissioning teams; reviews Commissioning Authority deliverables and first-of-kind installations; and provides technical input to Engineering and Procurement. Controls scope includes building management systems (BMS), electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS), SCADA and PLC architecture, networking and telemetry, leak detection, and integration with monitoring and DCIM platforms. The role establishes requirements and verification practices for point-to-point and I/O checks, sequences of operation, failure modes, alarm testing, and integrated systems testing. It also leads factory witness testing strategy, root-cause analysis of significant or recurring deficiencies, standards updates, technical training, and support for commissioning mobilization in new regions. The position is remote within the United States, with travel of up to 25% to IREN sites in Texas and elsewhere in North America and to the Fort Worth office. Candidates in the Dallas–Fort Worth area or within easy reach of IREN’s Texas sites are preferred. IREN offers a market-competitive total rewards package, including incentive-plan eligibility, health coverage, retirement benefits, paid time off, and professional development.
