Aligned Data Centers•IAD-04, VA
•$135,000 - $165,000

About The Position

The Commissioning & Reliability Manager supports commissioning and reliability delivery for assigned projects in mission-critical facilities. The role coordinates with third-party Commissioning Agents, supports development and review of project-specific commissioning plans and deliverables, witnesses testing as needed, and verifies the accuracy and completeness of test results and supporting evidence. The manager performs spot checks of field testing and documentation and helps ensure tests follow the Sequence of Operations and the Reliability Standard. The position supports quality assurance analysis and tracks indicators for Critical and High issues during Level 4, RVT, and Level 5 (IST) inspections. It supports formal system gating between commissioning levels by confirming prerequisites, documentation, and readiness, and escalates concerns about installation or documentation quality. The manager maintains the project commissioning issue log, categorizes deficiencies, drives root cause analysis for Level 4 and Level 5 Critical and High issues through verified closeout, and works with Site Operations to assess open-deficiency risks and document appropriate workarounds or Manual Operating Procedures. The role holds General Contractors and vendors accountable to schedules, documentation requirements, and technical design intent; collaborates with project teams and design and construction stakeholders; and reports status, successes, challenges, and actions to management and the broader team. It trains third-party personnel on Aligned’s Quality and Commissioning Programs, manages Cx Alloy requirements and use for assigned projects, and develops project-level feedback loops, risk models, strategies, and lessons learned. The manager also identifies and implements process improvements that strengthen readiness, testing rigor, issue closeout, and turnover outcomes. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical field is required, with equivalent education and experience considered. The role requires 3–6 years of relevant experience, including support for Level 4 functional testing and Level 5 Integrated Systems Testing. Occasional travel to facility sites may be required. The stated expected compensation range is $135,000–$165,000 plus a 10–20% annual bonus.
