This role is a technical resource supporting Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) projects, primarily focused on HVAC system optimization, operational performance, and verification of energy savings outcomes. Projects generally span complex, multi-building and multi-campus portfolios in higher education and healthcare environments. The Commissioning Provider serves as an internal quality and performance resource, collaborating with engineering, construction, controls, and operations teams throughout design and execution. The role ensures that system designs and sequences of operation are installed in alignment with project intent and support energy performance targets, while promoting consistent delivery across large, complex, multi-site programs. Responsibilities include commissioning planning and execution, design reviews, sequence-of-operation validation, coordination of functional performance testing, and identifying opportunities to improve system efficiency, reliability, and maintainability. The role works closely with retro-commissioning teams, controls contractors, and design teams to optimize airside and waterside systems and support successful project turnover and long-term operational performance. The position requires technical expertise in HVAC systems, building automation systems, and energy conservation strategies, along with the ability to analyze complex system interactions and drive issue resolution across multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate demonstrates knowledge of commissioning processes, energy optimization methodologies, and industry best practices, with a strong focus on execution quality, documentation, and continuous improvement. Travel of 30–50% is required.
