About The Position

FusionIRX is seeking a Commissioning Lead SME – Process Chemicals to provide leadership, technical authority, and integrity-driven guidance on mission-critical projects. The successful candidate will ensure that chemical process systems—from ultrapure chemicals to specialty gases and liquid distribution networks—are designed, installed, tested, and validated to meet owner requirements, industry standards, and regulatory expectations. The role calls for an expert who can thrive in high-stakes environments, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and demonstrate honesty, transparency, and professionalism.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in commissioning and/or operations of process chemical systems within semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or advanced manufacturing environments.
• Deep knowledge of process utility systems, including UPW, bulk and specialty chemicals, slurry, waste treatment, and gases.
• Proven track record of commissioning leadership on complex, high-value industrial projects.
• Strong familiarity with industry standards and regulatory codes, including SEMI, OSHA PSM, NFPA, and ASME.
• Exceptional communication and documentation skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams with integrity.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, ethics, and client-first values.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license and/or Commissioning Certification (e.g., CxA, QCxP) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end commissioning process for process chemical systems, ensuring operational readiness, reliability, and safety.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for process chemicals, advising owners, design teams, and contractors on design intent, constructability, and performance verification.
• Develop commissioning plans, protocols, and functional test procedures for chemical and specialty gas systems.
• Oversee pre-functional checks, system start-up, integrated system testing, and final turnover documentation.
• Validate compliance with industry codes, owner requirements, and EH&S standards, including OSHA, SEMI, NFPA, and ASME.
• Provide technical leadership during troubleshooting, issue resolution, and risk mitigation.
• Mentor and train commissioning engineers and junior staff, reinforcing technical excellence and FusionIRX’s ethical values.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with owners, EPCs, contractors, and third-party vendors through professionalism and integrity.
• Contribute to FusionIRX’s commissioning best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
