About The Position

The Commission Sales role is a seasonal position in the Holiday Gift Shop at The Grove. The ideal salesperson is passionate about fashion and styling and can cultivate and grow a customer following both digitally and in-store. The role involves achieving sales goals through in-store and digital selling, building customer relationships, providing customer-focused service and style advice, developing fashion and product knowledge, and supporting department operations. Hours and schedules vary by week based on business needs. The employee may occasionally be asked to perform duties in a department other than the one hired into.

• Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items, including reaching and lifting items above the head.
• Ability to regularly lift items up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift items up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set and achieve in-store and digital sales goals using selling tools, including text and social media.
• Build lasting relationships with customers.
• Provide customers with service on their terms.
• Give customers honest and confident feedback about style and fit.
• Develop fashion and product knowledge.
• Help keep the department customer ready by filling orders, stocking, re-merchandising, marking down prices, and doing light cleaning.
• Grow customer relationships by opening new Nordstrom Rewards program accounts.
• Be flexible to occasionally perform work or duties in a different department.
