About The Position

Northgate Gonzalez Market has grown from one store in Anaheim in 1980 to over 40 locations across Southern California. This role assists in managing total warehouse inventory value, performs physical inventory cycle counts, and tracks incoming and outgoing goods. The position works closely with the production scheduler to maintain adequate stock levels and collaborates with the warehouse manager to ensure optimal warehouse conditions. The role also involves tracking shipping and receiving activities, leading the development of inventory control processes, and implementing the Food Safety program under the QA Director. Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a warehouse setting with strong knowledge of inventory and supply-chain processes.
  • Strong computer skills – particularly Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • History of success managing multiple projects, working with tight deadlines, and prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and constructively in a team setting.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, communications, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Must have an outstanding attendance record.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Food Handlers Certification.
  • Must be able to lift to 10 Lbs. (Continuously)

Responsibilities

  • Assists in managing total warehouse inventory value.
  • Performs physical daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly inventory cycle counts.
  • Tracks incoming of raw materials, perishables, packaging goods and outgoing finished goods.
  • Works closely with production scheduler to maintain adequate levels of stock to meet daily production/distribution demands while minimizing excess supply.
  • Performs counts and ensures all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policies and procedures.
  • Reports any inventory count variances and conducts investigation of each variance.
  • Records corrective action as appropriate.
  • Works closely with warehouse manager to maintain organization of warehouse, coolers, and freezers in optimum operational conditions.
  • Strictly follows Company’s safety guidelines and procedures and enforces it in all distribution areas.
  • Tracks all dock shipping and receiving activities and works with assigned warehouse personnel using inventory control systems, shipping documents, personnel, and time management.
  • Leads development and maintenance of processes and procedures to ensure accurate and productive work activities for this department.
  • Works in conjunction and follows direction from QA Director in the implementation of the Food Safety program in the warehouse.

  • Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all inventories.
  • Assess inventory output on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis to identify trends in productivity.
  • Manage cycle counts of product inventories daily.
  • Identifies defective products, place hold tags on product and files credit claims as discovered.
  • Strictly executes the Allergen and traceability programs as per Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
  • Check date-sensitive products for expiration and facilitate removal or transfer of product as needed.
  • Executes the FiFo program as per warehouse directive.
  • Train other employees in Maintains a safe and efficient environment.
  • Consolidates documentation for each cycle count, organizes it and keeps files in an organized way, readily accessible.
  • Investigates all cycle count variance activities and exceptions with the warehouse personnel for proper corrective action and elimination of non-conformances.
  • Ensures full compliance with facility and department safety rules, HACCP, SSOP’s & GMP’s according to Company’s Food Safety guidelines.
  • Monitors and documents all cycle count activities for performance and compliance with strict adherence to Company standards for quality, safety, sanitation and overall productivity through job analysis, training, and timely documentation.
  • Assists Supply Chain Manager in managing total warehouse inventory according to budget.
  • Assists Warehouse Manager in the proper storage and configuration of raw materials and finished goods.
