About The Position

PENN Entertainment is seeking a Commissary Cook to join their team. This role involves preparing various food items for consumption in dining areas at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races. Requirements

3 months experience in the culinary field.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Must qualify for licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commission.
Attend West Virginia Food Handlers Class and pass certification.
Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
Occasionally required to walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

Prepares, seasons, and mixes grab & go salads, sandwiches, and other foodstuffs.
Compounds salads, prepares fruit/veggie displays.
Slices meats, cheeses, vegetables, and fruits.
Portions food to fill orders.
Fills commissary orders to outlets.
Adds seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking.
Observes and tests foods being cooked by tasting, smelling, and piercing to determine doneness.
Washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits.
Performs other duties as assigned.
