About The Position

Are you an experienced Journeyperson Commercial Transport Technician — or a senior 4th‑year apprentice / ticketed technician — looking for long‑term stability and a rewarding career in the West Kootenays? We will also consider qualified ASTs and HETs with air brakes and CVIP who have relevant on‑road fleet experience, as well as 4th‑year Commercial Transport apprentices nearing ticket completion. Requirements

  • Journeyperson Commercial Transport Technician (Red Seal)
  • Automotive Service Technician (AST) or Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Red Seal with demonstrated commercial / on-road fleet experience, air brake endorsement, and the ability to meet CVIP regulatory requirements (including inspection sign-off where applicable)
  • 4th-year registered Commercial Transport Technician apprentice close to ticket completion
  • Air Brake endorsement
  • Demonstrated competency in brakes, steering, suspension, and preventative maintenance
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with air brake endorsement (maximum 3 demerits)
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and safety-first mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Transit, coach, or fleet maintenance experience
  • Experience with electronic work order / maintenance management systems
  • Class 1, 2, or 3 license with air endorsement

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair commercial transport / transit vehicles using advanced diagnostic tools
  • Perform preventative maintenance and CVIP inspections (as qualified and authorized)
  • Operate buses for testing and diagnostics as required
  • Maintain accurate service records and support parts procurement
  • Collaborate with fellow technicians and management to meet shop priorities
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace
  • Mentor apprentices and support training and development initiatives
