About The Position

Best-One Tire & Service in Madisonville is hiring a dependable, safety-focused Commercial Tire Technician to inspect, repair, mount, and replace commercial truck and heavy equipment tires while providing customer service. Work may be performed in the shop or at customer locations. The role also includes retread handling, fleet inspections, vehicle lifting, and safe operation and maintenance of shop and diagnostic equipment. Starting pay is $18 per hour. Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Positive attitude and ability to relate well with other employees and customers.
• Dependable and safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Remove, install, rotate, balance, and perform flat repairs on commercial and large-equipment tires, in the shop or at customer locations, following TIA Commercial guidelines.
• Safely separate and reassemble tires onto wheels using specialized equipment.
• Inspect tire casings for defects.
• Locate and seal tire punctures using patches and plugs.
• Prepare rims and wheel drums for reassembly by scraping, grinding, or sandblasting.
• Prepare retreads by discussing tread with the customer, preparing work orders, staging retreads, and loading them onto trucks.
• Unload retreads from trucks and stack them in the warehouse area.
• Perform fleet inspections to assess tire needs and make recommendations to fleets.
• Raise and lower vehicles safely using hydraulic or floor jacks.
• Safely operate shop machinery, including safety cages, spreaders, balancers, floor jacks or lifts, air-powered tools, torque wrenches, and/or torque sticks.
• Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment.
