About The Position

The Commercial Sales Division Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, performance, and growth of the B2B and Commercial Paint sales divisions for Sunshine Ace Hardware and Crowder’s Bros. Ace Hardware. This role serves as the senior leader of the commercial sales function, directly managing the outside sales team while maintaining full accountability for total commercial sales performance across all channels. The Manager drives revenue growth, market share, and profitability by building a high-performing, professional sales organization and establishing disciplined sales processes, pricing strategies, and customer engagement standards. While inside sales specialists and store-based paint associates report through operations, this role provides functional leadership and alignment to ensure a seamless and exceptional commercial customer experience. Success in this role requires delivering “Unreasonable Hospitality” to business partners while fostering a culture of performance built on being Humble, Hungry, and Smart.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to lead both direct teams and cross-functional influence without direct authority
  • Strong sales leadership with a track record of driving revenue and margin growth
  • Advanced pricing, negotiation, and financial management skills
  • High level of analytical thinking and ability to use data to drive decisions
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with a customer-first mindset
  • Strong knowledge of hues, color theory, and advanced color-matching techniques across multiple paint types and surfacing solutions.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and competitive environments
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and Google Business applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in B2B, commercial, or contractor sales leadership
  • Proven success building and leading high performing outside sales teams
  • Experience in hardware, or industrial sales, is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in coating solutions/paint required
  • Ability to sit, stand, and travel frequently
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally (with assistance as needed)
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to travel regularly between store locations and customer sites
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and industry events as needed

Responsibilities

  • Promote and execute the vision for commercial sales growth, maximizing market share to remain the dominant independent hardware and paint provider in Southwest Florida.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, KPIs, and structured processes to drive sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Apply enterprise-level financial acumen to align sales strategies with overall company profitability objectives.
  • Build a professional, high-performing sales organization using Top grading principles to attract and retain “A-Players.”
  • Foster a culture of accountability, energy, and a “Hungry” pursuit of new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business customers, contractors, and key stakeholders through consistent engagement and service excellence.
  • Direct commercial pricing strategy, including discount structures, contract pricing, and margin expectations.
  • Ensure a disciplined balance between sales growth and profitability.
  • Evaluate market conditions and competitive positioning to adjust pricing strategies as needed.
  • Provide functional leadership and alignment across inside sales, store teams, and paint departments to ensure coordinated execution of commercial strategy.
  • Partner closely with Buying and Marketing teams to align product assortment, availability, and promotional strategies with commercial customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain structured sales processes, including pipeline management, CRM utilization, and performance tracking.
  • Monitor sales performance through KPIs and analytics to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure consistent execution of best practices across the commercial sales organization.
  • Promote a culture centered on the Ideal Team Player virtues: Humble, Hungry, and Smart.
  • Represent the company at industry events, HOA meetings, and community engagements to build relationships and generate leads.
  • Strengthen the company’s presence within the contractor and business community.
