The Commercial Sales Consultant will sell products and services by interacting with commercial business customers and developing new relationships. They will work to develop long-term relationships with customers via commercial maintenance contracts and position the Company to help the customer with their HVAC needs. This role utilizes effective sales techniques, including networking and “cold calling” to develop new accounts for commercial maintenance, service, retrofit, and replacement business. The consultant actively manages and maintains relationships with strategic commercial customers and supports ongoing relationships with these customers, ensuring consistent service delivery across all locations. They will use assessment tools and other relevant systems to prepare proposals for commercial customers, explaining technical information in an understandable manner. The role involves preparing and presenting service contracts for new customers and updating renewal contracts for existing ones, as well as entering new customer data into a contact database. Weekly reports of contracts sold, business transactions, and customers contacted are required. The consultant will confer with owners of existing buildings and inspect premises to determine installation or service requirements, present bids, and explain credit terms and cost factors, emphasizing quality, performance, and service. Coordination of the transition from a new commercial installation customer to an ongoing maintenance/service customer is also a key responsibility, involving meetings with owners and proposal preparation at project completion. Periodic contact with owners is necessary to advise of work progress and resolve service problems. The role also includes contacting property owners and construction agents of prospective customers to obtain building specifications and submitting this information to the commercial sales/estimating department. Lead generation for prospective customers is based on information from various sources like newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, and websites. Developing and maintaining relationships with purchasing contacts is also part of the role. Other duties as assigned.
