About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to provide hands-on safety leadership across active commercial construction projects throughout the Nashville area. This field-based role is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment by conducting site inspections, identifying hazards, enforcing safety standards, and partnering with project teams to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies. The ideal candidate is comfortable spending the majority of the day on active jobsites, working directly with field personnel, subcontractors, and project leadership to promote a strong safety culture and ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • Associate's degree in Construction, Engineering, or Safety plus 2+ years of direct construction safety experience.
  • Professional safety certification (CHST, CSP, ASP, or equivalent) plus 3+ years of direct construction safety experience.
  • 4+ years of construction industry experience plus 3+ years of direct safety oversight in commercial construction.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and commercial construction safety practices.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, and hazard assessments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, subcontractors, general contractors, and project leadership.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in active construction environments and addressing safety concerns in real time.
  • Ability to access elevated work areas, climb ladders and scaffolding, and work around active construction equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine safety inspections on active commercial construction sites to identify hazards and verify compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Enforce safety policies with craft employees, foremen, subcontractors, and project management teams.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and implement immediate corrective actions to prevent incidents.
  • Complete and accurately maintain documentation, including inspections, incident reports, corrective actions, and safety training records.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and field leadership to address safety concerns and improve jobsite safety performance.
  • Monitor changing jobsite conditions, including work at heights, scaffolding, ladders, excavations, heavy equipment, and other construction activities.
  • Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training to reinforce safe work practices.
  • Maintain a visible field presence and proactively identify opportunities to improve overall safety performance.
