About The Position

Empire Roofing provides comprehensive commercial roofing services for industrial, office, retail, and institutional properties. We are seeking a Estimator/Project Manager for our Houston office. The Estimator/Project Manager is responsible for the estimation of new construction in all aspects of project management of the sales assigned, as well as, day to day operations which will impact the profitability and reputation of the department and company, with involvement of both long-term planning of departmental affairs and short-term scheduling and supervision of projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, college preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years of construction industry experience with emphasis on all facets of business including but not limited to customer relations,
  • Other critical skills include planning & organizing; problem identification/resolution, multitasking, follow-through skills to bring tasks to closure in a timely manner, priority setting, and having a sense of urgency in accomplishing tasks in a timely manner.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and comfortable visiting actual job sites about 50% of the time (without fear of heights)
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with associates

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
  • Knowledge of business and management principles
  • Extensive knowledge of roofing materials, techniques and requirements

Responsibilities

  • Estimates job costs and submits proposals for review.
  • Manages projects to meet targeted schedules and costs.
  • Reviews and approves invoices, material slips, purchase orders, contracts, and proposals to verify that they do not compromise company policy or exceed intended scope of work.
  • Resolves disputes with clients and past due accounts efficiently
  • Maintains and protects all company equipment, vehicles, and Company policies.
  • Tracks and controls labor and material costs of jobs.
  • Invoices contract, time, and material projects.
  • Works with prime and subcontractors on all phases of projects including schedules, change orders, submittts, quality control, etc.
  • Fields customer requests, questions and complaints.
