About The Position

This role focuses on seeking new business opportunities and maintaining relationships with existing clients, with a potential specialization in either new business acquisition or client retention. The position requires strict adherence to Corporate Standards of Excellence and procedural guidelines outlined in the Professional Procedure Manual. Key responsibilities include generating leads, prospecting for new clients through local networks, developing Centers of Influence, and achieving annual new business goals. The role involves working closely with an assigned account management team to review client information, current policies, and prepare proposals. Additionally, the Commercial Risk Advisor is responsible for managing collections, ensuring timely premium payments, and providing professional risk management advice to prospects and clients to foster trusted advisor status and maximize growth and retention through exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work outside of core hours as needed.

  • Ability to communicate clearly, to work well with others, and to manage time effectively.
  • Proven record of servicing a book of business with at minimum $500K in revenue.
  • Producer license is Mandatory.
  • Sales experience, preferably in Insurance; commercial property and casualty or related business-to-business sales experience.
  • Willingness to continue education is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • CIC, CPCU, AAI, or AIS designations preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relative field preferred, or equivalent in work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Generate leads and pursue new client opportunities.
  • Prospect for business based on local networks, connections, and communities; send referrals to other departments.
  • Develop strong Centers of Influence and network to develop new business opportunities; responsible for meeting or exceeding new business goals set annually.
  • Complete and/or review the large client survey to gather all pertinent information and work with the assigned account management team to review current policies.
  • Develop and maintain active expiration lists through internal and external sources.
  • Achieve trusted advisor status with clients, provide professional risk management advice to prospects and clients.
  • Maintain and foster strong business-to-business relationships.
  • Maximize growth and retention by providing exceptional customer service to clients.
  • Make arrangements with clients to ensure premium payment on a timely basis and be responsible for management of collections for assigned accounts.
  • Conduct renewal strategy meetings at renewal to address coverage gaps, limit adequacy, and provide industry and insurance trends.
  • Obtain information for quotes and, if applicable, work with the marketing team to obtain quotes from the insurance marketplace.
  • Provide input on renewal premium negotiations with the account management team.
  • Work with the assigned account management team to prepare proposals and present to prospects and clients.
  • Work with the assigned account management team to set renewal timeline and complete pre-underwriting, information gathering, submissions, coverage analysis, and proposal presentations if needed.
  • Conducts proposal meeting with client.
  • Utilize company systems as applicable; Sagitta, ImageRight, Helix.
  • Develop accounts and cross-sell available products and services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
