About The Position

The Commercial Product Manager is responsible for leading product commercialization and sustaining Aldevron’s expanding Gene Editing Therapeutic product portfolio and services. This role involves working with functions across the organization to establish a market-leading position. The manager will oversee existing clinical and commercial products & services by executing commercial launches as defined by Product Strategy, and collaborating with commercial teams and partners to maximize growth and differentiation of the current portfolio. This position reports to the Vice President, Gene Editing Therapeutics and is part of the Gene Editing Business Unit and will be fully remote. In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Legal, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Quality, and other teams to launch and manage Gene Editing products and services. This includes gene editing-specific solutions that leverage Aldevron’s manufacturing and CDMO expertise, while delivering differentiated messaging, value propositions, tactical marketing plans, collateral, and training tools. You will develop plans and pricing strategies to forecast and achieve annual orders, revenue, and margin growth objectives across the gene editing workflow to meet top and bottom-line financial results. The role involves managing the mid-to-late stage lifecycle of products and custom manufacturing services, focusing on growth and optimization to end-of-life strategy. You will enable Commercial teams by delivering sales training for new and on-market products, owning actions to support funnel and opportunity growth, supporting key accounts, and acting as a product lead for key client discussions and escalations. Additionally, you will serve as a subject matter expert with a customer-centric point of view for Gene Editing products and their target markets/customers by providing regular analysis of market, regulatory trends and competitors to establish multi-year product forecasts and identify opportunities to improve current products.

Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a client-facing role as a product manager or a sales role.
  • Minimum of 3 years of product management experience within the life sciences, or related healthcare field.
  • Experience managing products in a regulated biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical device-related field is required.
  • Demonstrated success in launching and sustaining excellent products.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, including international.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Advanced degree in a scientific field preferred (e.g. cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, or biochemistry).
  • Strong cell and gene therapy, gene editing, and/or life science industry understanding.
  • Influencing all levels of an organization including Senior and Functional Leaders to lead change without direct supervisory leverage.
  • Working cross-functionally with a globally distributed team.
