About The Position

Augustus is hiring a Commercial & Product Counsel to own the legal work behind the company’s US products, sales, and marketing. The role advises on new products from the beginning, structuring them, identifying risks early, and helping bring them to market without making legal a bottleneck. It leads enterprise commercial negotiations and manages contracting end to end, including templates, playbooks, fallback positions, approval rules, and signature. The counsel also reviews marketing, website, and sales materials for compliance and works with Compliance to translate regulatory requirements into product and contract terms. The position reports to the Global Chief Legal and Risk Officer and works closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Compliance. The team is small, so the role carries substantial ownership and independent decision-making. Augustus is building its US team while growing in Europe. The company describes itself as building a modern correspondent bank using a national bank charter in organization and its proprietary core banking system, Marble.
