About The Position

The Commercial Portfolio Assistant is responsible for managing various aspects of the loan application process, updating financial requests, and overseeing audit management within the Commercial Lending department. This role involves coordinating audits, managing reporting, and supporting the loan review and closing processes.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required
Willingness and ability to learn the processes of the Commercial Loan Department.
Successful completion of in-house training.
Effective interpersonal, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer service skills required.
Strong ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and multitask is essential.
Must be organized, accurate, and detail oriented.
Computer skills, and the ability to operate standard office equipment.

Nice To Haves

bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.
3-5 years of related experience (banking, lending, finance) is preferred.
Knowledge of regulations and processes for account opening, entity structures, loan processing practices and procedures, and compliance is a plus.

Responsibilities

Manages any escalated issues that arise.
Coordinates and manages commercial audits and regulatory exams.
Completes monthly & quarterly reporting.
Portfolio management; including managing the financial tickler process, obtaining updated financials, and working with the Credit Analyst on the loan review process.
Manages loan application process for lending officers including following up with customer for additional information needed.
Review closing documents from attorneys.
Oversees the commercial loan approval process including coordinating appraisals and attorneys for loan closings.
Oversees closing documentation and funding during loan closing process.
Administrative responsibilities for Credit Quest & Laser Pro.
Customer Support for Commercial Department.
Notary services (BankGloucester will assist in obtaining Notary, if necessary).
Complete new hire and quarterly BVS compliance training.
All other duties as assigned.
