Commercial Pipefitter
About The Position
RQ is hiring Pipefitters for ongoing construction work at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia, and surrounding project locations. This is a full-time, on-site position for RQ’s Mechanical team on an active military construction site. The Pipefitter will assemble, install, and plan piping systems, applying journeyman-level skills and working to code on a Department of Defense project. The position is open to candidates in Kingsland, St. Marys, Woodbine, Camden County, Brunswick, and the greater Jacksonville, Florida area. Pay is $20.94–$46.25 per hour, depending on experience, under Davis-Bacon prevailing wages specific to the base. Candidates considered for hire must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization and successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check for access to the military base, if applicable.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 4 years of journeyman-level pipefitting experience in commercial, facilities, government, or military construction.
- Mechanical pipe installation experience.
Nice To Haves
- Deep underground pipefitting experience.
- Copper and carbon steel experience.
- Experience with boilers and chiller lines.
- Valid Pipefitter license or journeyman card.
- OSHA-10 certification.
- CPR certification.
- First Aid certification.
