About The Position

Orkin is hiring a Commercial Pest Control Technician to provide safe, professional pest management services to customers on an assigned route. New technicians complete extensive, award-winning paid training, with no prior pest control experience required. Training prepares technicians for daily route operations, scheduling, issue diagnosis, treatment planning, and customer service.

Technicians inspect customers’ properties, diagnose and address pest-management concerns, explain work performed, and discuss additional services. The role involves working independently in the field, traveling to customer businesses or homes in a company vehicle, and completing service documentation on a handheld device. The position offers an assigned route, hourly pay starting at $18–$20 with commission opportunity, and opportunities for career growth.

Requirements

• No prior experience required; training is provided.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain the appropriate pesticide license within the first 90 days of employment; the company pays for it.
• Ability to work independently in the field, manage route-based assignments, and interact with customers in businesses and/or homes.
• Ability to safely perform the job duties with or without accommodations, including using ladders within manufacturer weight limits, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, and accessing crawl spaces, attics, confined spaces, and rooftops.
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment, sometimes including an OSHA-compliant respirator.
• Willingness to work in different weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Complete required initial and ongoing training.
• Prioritize safety in all work responsibilities.
• Follow an assigned route and daily operations schedule, arriving at customer locations on time and safely.
• Operate and maintain the cleanliness of the company vehicle and equipment.
• Interact professionally and with integrity with customers and coworkers.
• Listen to customers, understand their needs, and recommend efficient pest-management solutions with empathy.
• Meet customers at their businesses or homes, explain actions taken, confirm satisfaction, and discuss additional services.
• Inspect the interior and exterior of customer properties.
• Complete required service-related documentation using a provided handheld device.
