About The Position

Mountain Pro is hiring a Painting Project Lead to guide painting crews on commercial, resort-area, and high-end residential projects in the Durango, CO area. This is a hands-on field leadership role for an experienced painter who can keep a crew organized, productive, safe, and focused on quality. You will work closely with production leadership, support daily job site decisions, and help deliver professional painting results across Southwest Colorado. Mountain Pro is an established painting contractor serving Colorado's mountain and resort communities, with operations in Durango, Vail, Summit County, and surrounding areas. For more than two decades, we have provided professional painting services for luxury homes, commercial properties, and resort-area projects. Our team is known for dependable work, clear communication, quality finishes, and a strong crew culture built on respect, accountability, and pride in the trade.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of professional commercial painting experience preferred
  • Interior, exterior, prep, and finish painting experience preferred
  • 2+ years of crew leadership, team lead, foreman, or field supervision experience preferred
  • Strong communication and crew management skills
  • Ability to plan daily work, solve problems, and keep jobs moving
  • High standards for preparation, detail, cleanliness, and final results
  • Professional attitude with clients, coworkers, managers, and contractors
  • English fluency required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Local to the Durango area or willing to relocate for the right opportunity

  • Spanish language skills are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support painting crews on commercial and high-end residential job sites
  • Set daily priorities and help keep projects safe, organized, and on schedule
  • Assign tasks based on crew strengths, project needs, and deadlines
  • Oversee surface preparation, masking, interior painting, exterior painting, detail work, and final touch-ups
  • Maintain high standards for prep, cleanliness, finish quality, and job site presentation
  • Communicate with Production Managers about materials, timelines, staffing, progress, and project needs
  • Adjust daily work plans when needed to protect schedules and quality
  • Troubleshoot job site issues and make practical field decisions
  • Help build a respectful, hardworking, drama-free crew environment
  • Represent Mountain Pro professionally with clients, contractors, and property managers
  • Support a finished product the whole team can stand behind
