Commercial Overhead Door Service Tech
About The Position
ESI’s sister company, Jameson Supply, is seeking a skilled Commercial Overhead Door Service Technician. The technician inspects, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs commercial and industrial overhead door systems. The role involves travel throughout Idaho and surrounding states, with work potentially taking place at project sites inside or outside the Boise metropolitan area and in other states. The position includes indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Work may involve heights, fumes or airborne particles, and electrical components. Frequent motor-vehicle travel and extended hours on construction sites may be required. The technician must be able to move around project premises and lift or move materials and tools weighing up to 75 pounds; these physical tasks may vary and are not required daily. Professional communication, teamwork, and following safety protocols and oral and written instructions are important. Requirements
- Experience in mechanical work, industrial maintenance, construction, or equipment repair.
- Valid driver license.
- Troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift and/or move materials and tools weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to travel frequently by motor vehicle and travel to project sites in Idaho, surrounding states, or other states as required.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, potentially at heights, near fumes or airborne particles, and around electrical components.
- Professional communication and interaction with supervisors, employees, and others, individually or in a team environment.
- Ability to adhere to safety protocols and follow oral and written instructions, warning signs, equipment guidelines, and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial overhead door systems.
- Service rolling steel doors, sectional doors, fire doors, high-speed doors, and security grilles.
- Inspect and maintain operators, controls, and safety devices.
- Perform preventive maintenance and site inspections.
- Complete service documentation and communicate recommendations.
