About The Position

The Commercial Maintenance Engineer performs preventive maintenance and repairs for buildings, equipment, and grounds across a commercial building portfolio throughout the San Antonio area. The role handles maintenance requests and emergency response, inspects building systems, and oversees work performed by third-party vendors. It also includes responding to after-hours emergencies and other duties assigned by the Property Manager.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of direct work experience in commercial property maintenance and operations.
• Knowledge of facility maintenance and repairs, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, lighting systems, and other general repairs.
• Reliable transportation and a good driving record.
• Professional, dependable, flexible, and accountable, with effective communication skills, a positive attitude, and strong tenant-relations skills.
• Motivated and able to take initiative and complete tasks without constant direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Complete work orders and maintenance requests, emergency repairs and response calls, and preventive maintenance.
• Regularly inspect properties and ensure building systems—including elevators, HVAC, fire, plumbing, and electrical systems—are functioning properly and well maintained.
• Inspect and oversee maintenance or repairs performed by third-party vendors to ensure the work is completed properly and according to the scope of work.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations, including after-hours emergency calls.
• Perform other duties as needed, as determined by the Property Manager.
