About The Position

The Commercial Loan Processor will provide primary support for the Chief Credit Officer, Director of Commercial Banking, Commercial Loan Officers, and other business development staff. This role involves authoring loan documents for loan closing, issuing lending checks, completing post-closing checklists, perfecting collateral liens, and submitting documents to Loan Servicing. The jobholder will perform commercial lending processing, closing, and administrative duties, including obtaining necessary information and documents for loan processing, renewals, and modifications. They will also prepare commitment letters, order flood hazard determinations and insurance policies, manage appraisal and evaluation requests, and coordinate with attorneys and borrowers for closings. The role requires reviewing and approving HUD Settlement Statements and Title Commitments, creating portfolios in the FISERV system, and preparing loan closing document packages for various loan types. Additionally, the processor will review signed closing documents for funding, assemble post-closing loan packages, prepare loan renewal or modification documents, and conduct loan file documentation reviews. Maintaining a Pending Report, organizing and imaging credit file documentation, and reconciling invoices are also key responsibilities. The role includes servicing commercial loan and deposit accounts, reviewing statements, contacting delinquent customers, and assisting with consumer processing and underwriting as needed. The jobholder will also compose various business documents, ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies, provide customer service, communicate regularly with management, and perform additional duties as requested, including answering telephones and relaying messages.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a lending or credit administration environment (experience processing and reading/understanding loan documentation) required.
  • Ability to interact with clients to obtain information required for loan documentation as well as obtains routine financial data.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines, multi-task, and work with other departments as well as external customers to achieve required results.

  • Proficient computer and system navigation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Obtaining necessary information and documents to process approved commercial loans, loan renewals, and modifications.
  • Preparing commitment letters for commercial loans.
  • Ordering flood hazard determinations and Equiguard Insurance Policies via ESA.
  • Ordering and maintaining a log for appraisal and evaluation requests.
  • Sending title requests to attorneys, scheduling closings, resolving closing related issues, and corresponding with attorneys and borrowers.
  • Reviewing and approving HUD Settlement Statements and Title Commitments.
  • Creating portfolios in FISERV system for non-existing customers and guarantors related to a loan closing.
  • Compiling, processing, and preparing loan closing document packages for commercial real estate and non-real estate loans.
  • Compiling, processing, and preparing loan closing document packages for consumer real estate loans.
  • Reviewing all signed closing documents to fund closings via check, wire, or TMS transfer and expensing bank-paid fees through TMS.
  • Assembling loan packages post-closing according to checklist and completing routing sheet to forward to Loan Servicing for uploading.
  • Preparing loan renewal or modification documents and coordinating the signing of documents and collection of fees.
  • Completing loan file documentation reviews on all commercial loans and real estate secured consumer loans and prepare follow-up, pending “tickler” reminders for pending items.
  • Maintaining Pending Report that includes items outstanding from loan file documentation review.
  • Organizing and imaging of credit file documentation from approved and booked loans.
  • Completing reports as needed to maintain records for appraisals and evaluations.
  • Reconciling and remitting invoices on the Appraisal Log.
  • Completing collateral release worksheets as requested based on previously approved terms and fees.
  • Servicing commercial loan and deposit accounts.
  • Reviewing and packing commercial loan payment, past due, and matured statements.
  • Contacting overdrawn or delinquent customers.
  • Assisting with consumer processing and underwriting upon request.
  • Composing and typing memorandums, letters, forms, reports, etc.
  • Ensuring that all procedures and activities are done in conjunction with appropriate regulatory, compliance and internal policies.
  • Assisting with compliance efforts as appropriate and designated.
  • Providing exemplary customer service in support of Bank lending objectives.
  • Regularly communicating with Manager in the manner and time frame required by the Manager.
  • Providing information and performing additional duties as requested.
  • Answering telephone; taking and relaying messages; directing caller to appropriate individual.
