About The Position

The Commercial Loan Closing Manager directs the day-to-day operations of commercial loan closers, including workflow management, quality control, and employee development. The role oversees commercial loan closings to ensure transactions are completed accurately and on time in accordance with approved loan terms, Bank policies, and regulatory requirements. The manager coordinates with relevant business lines to identify and resolve closing-related issues.

The position supervises commercial loan closing staff and works with Commercial Lending and Loan Servicing to support accurate, compliant closings and loan setup. It also provides management with updates on closing activity, pipeline status, operational trends, and potential risks.

The work includes routine office activities such as typing, reading, computer work, filing, copying, and telephone use. The position may also require standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting. The successful candidate must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the U.S. on the first day of work; the Bank will not sponsor a visa or work authorization.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 years of experience in commercial lending, commercial loan administration, loan documentation, or commercial loan closing required.
• Prior supervisory or management experience required.
• Strong understanding of commercial loan documentation, collateral perfection requirements, and loan funding processes, including commercial lending regulations and industry best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by the first day of work; the Bank will not sponsor a visa or work authorization.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Paralegal training or professional paralegal certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage loan closer workflows and oversee the preparation, review, and execution of commercial loan closing documents.
• Ensure closing documentation is accurate, complete, compliant, and consistent with approved loan terms, Bank policies, and applicable regulations.
• Liaise between commercial loan closers and the Commercial Lending and Loan Servicing Departments to identify and resolve potential closing issues.
• Perform final quality control reviews of commercial loan closing transactions.
• Monitor and resolve closing exceptions and documentation deficiencies.
• Oversee post-closing review processes to ensure the accuracy of loan setup requirements and related documentation.
• Provide management with regular updates about closing activity, pipeline status, operational trends, and potential risks.
• Supervise commercial loan closing staff, including assigning work, training, coaching, performance management, and employee development.
