About The Position

Shulman Rogers, P.A. is seeking a mid-level Commercial Litigation Attorney to join its Litigation Department in the Potomac, Maryland office. The ideal candidate has substantive commercial litigation experience, strong legal research and writing skills, and the ability to manage matters independently while collaborating with partners and other attorneys. The attorney will handle a broad range of commercial and business litigation matters in state and federal courts, manage all phases of litigation, prepare substantive legal documents, conduct research and develop case strategies, and participate in settlement and dispute-resolution proceedings. Requirements

J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
3–7 years of substantive commercial or business litigation experience.
Maryland Bar license required.
Demonstrated experience with discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court proceedings.
Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
Ability to manage matters independently and collaborate with partners and other attorneys.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a law firm environment is preferred.
DC and/or Virginia Bar admission is a plus.

Responsibilities

Handle commercial and business litigation matters in state and federal courts.
Manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation.
Draft substantive pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents.
Conduct legal research and analysis and develop effective case strategies.
Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
