About The Position

The Freelance Firm is seeking a qualified, experienced, and reliable attorney to support a Florida law firm’s busy corporate transactional practice, commercial litigation defense, collections, and smaller corporate transactions. This is a contract-based, as-needed opportunity, working directly with the firm’s owner on litigation and transactional matters, including matters arising from SBA loan workouts. The firm values consistent communication and predictable turnaround on every assignment. The pay rate starts at $90 per hour.

Requirements

• Be actively licensed and in good standing with the Florida Bar.
• Have a minimum of 5 years of law firm experience.
• Have commercial litigation defense experience.
• Have collections experience.
• Have corporate transactional experience.
• Be based in the United States.
• Be able to independently manage assignments and meet deadlines.
• Have excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Be highly responsive, reliable, and proactive.

Nice To Haves

• SBA loan workout experience.
• Experience with Clio, OneDrive, and Dropbox.

Responsibilities

• Handle commercial litigation defense matters, including matters involving denied insurance coverage.
• Manage collections matters from intake through resolution.
• Draft and review documents for smaller corporate transactions.
• Support matters arising from SBA loan workouts.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
• Independently manage assigned matters and meet deadlines.
• Provide timely status updates and predictable turnaround to the supervising attorney.
