About The Position

HUB International is seeking a Commercial Lines Sales Manager to join their team in Rockville, MD. This role involves motivating, mentoring, and managing Producers to achieve sales goals. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in insurance sales.
  • Current Property & Casualty License or ability to reinstate upon hire.
  • Proven ability to identify and develop new client relationships.
  • Experience conducting effective sales meetings and managing a productive sales pipeline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Superior written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Willing and able to travel locally for client visits.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Up to 25% travel required.
  • High school or equivalent education.

  • Experience with Agency Management System software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Motivating, mentoring, and managing Producers in sales strategies to ensure potential is met or exceeded.
  • Accountable for meeting established sales goals within the assigned team.
  • Responsible for hiring, firing, and overall management of assigned Producers.
  • Approve or deny sales expenses, donations, and sponsorships for the assigned team.
  • Conduct effective sales meetings with the assigned team.
  • Implement HUB International sales best practices and other HO Sales Initiatives.
  • Develop a sales plan to achieve new business and retention revenue goals.
  • Assure that producers are utilizing and keeping CORE updated with their activities.
  • Recruit new production staff in the assigned territory.
  • Implement corrective action plans for Producers where needed.
  • Ensure that Producers are meeting internal standards when working with service and marketing teams.
  • Assist Producers with establishing sales techniques to open doors and close deals.
  • Report findings with recommendations to the Chief Sales Officer (CSO).
  • Develop and achieve maximum sales volume consistent with individual and company objectives.
  • Identify, develop, and qualify new prospects.
  • Qualify and handle leads generated by the company.
  • Contact prospects to set appointments and gain information on expirations.
  • Cross-sell lines of business for all company profit centers.
  • Prepare accurate and complete applications on new and renewal business, including narrative describing all operations of the risk.
  • Collaborate on preparation of marketing submissions for new business.
  • Interface with company support staff and Marketing Department to review accounts, determine markets, set follow-up dates, and assist in timely processing of business.
  • Prepare and/or present proposals to prospects and clients.
  • Close sales.
  • Develop and perpetuate a loyal customer base.
  • Coordinate ongoing service for existing accounts with Account Manager.
  • Collaborate with Account Manager to design and maintain appropriate insurance programs for existing accounts.
  • Maintain production reports and attend sales meetings as required.
  • Assist in collecting money, arranging satisfactory financing, or canceling coverage.
  • Assume ultimate responsibility for keeping existing accounts.
  • Be the primary contact with clients for problems, coverage concerns, and collections.
  • Produce and service new commercial accounts while maintaining and enhancing HUB International New England’s image.
  • Keep informed of changes and trends within the industry.
  • Conduct business in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of business and earnings implications.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.
