About The Position

Rex is seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager to serve as the service backbone of InsurePro, its profitable and growing independent insurance agency. The role owns service outcomes across a commercial book of well over a thousand clients, ensuring requests are handled accurately and promptly and that policies, renewals, and client records are maintained effectively. The Account Manager works between clients, carriers, a dedicated service partner, and agency leadership. The position manages the full commercial servicing lifecycle, including endorsements, certificates of insurance, fleet and driver updates, audits, rewrites, renewals, and remarketing. The Account Manager triages work, handles complex or high-stakes changes personally, delegates routine requests, and escalates issues appropriately. Renewals and policy reviews are also opportunities to identify changing exposures, coverage gaps, and potential cross-sell opportunities, which are passed to agency leadership to close. This is a hands-on, high-volume role requiring commercial lines account management experience, an active Property and Casualty license, and Applied Epic proficiency. The ideal candidate brings precision under pressure, sound judgment, strong client service, and a commitment to Rex’s mission of catalyzing human flourishing by protecting businesses. The position is fully remote. Compensation includes a base salary commensurate with experience and market standards, with the opportunity for commissions and/or performance bonuses. Applicants must pass a background check and execute a confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement before starting.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of commercial lines account management experience, with direct ownership of a book of business.
  • Active Property and Casualty license.
  • Applied Epic proficiency.
  • Working knowledge of general liability, commercial property, commercial auto, workers’ compensation, umbrella, cyber, and EPLI.
  • Proven ability to process endorsements, certificates, fleet changes, audits, and renewals at high volume without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Experience remarketing accounts and working directly with carrier underwriters to place coverage.
  • Sound judgment about when to handle, delegate, or escalate, with a disciplined approach to E&O risk.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain coverage clearly and confidently to business owners.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and persistent in follow-through.
  • Client-focused service mindset and alignment with Rex’s mission to catalyze human flourishing by protecting businesses.
  • Applicants must pass a background check before their first day and execute a comprehensive confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement before starting.

Nice To Haves

  • Independent agency experience, including exposure to multiple carriers and markets, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience directing or partnering with service support staff to increase output.
  • Commercial curiosity and ability to identify what a business has outgrown and what coverage it may need next.

Responsibilities

  • Own servicing requests across the commercial book, including endorsements, certificates of insurance, fleet and driver updates, audits, and policy rewrites.
  • Triage incoming work, handle complex changes personally, and delegate routine requests to a dedicated service partner.
  • Manage renewals end to end, gathering updated exposures, reviewing terms, and delivering renewals on time without coverage lapses.
  • Remarket accounts when pricing, coverage, or carrier appetite changes, moving clients to better-fit carriers.
  • Conduct proactive policy reviews to identify coverage gaps, emerging exposures, and cross-sell opportunities such as umbrella, cyber, and EPLI coverage.
  • Present qualified account growth opportunities to agency leadership with relevant context, exposure data, and recommended next steps.
  • Work with carrier underwriters and service centers to resolve issues, secure endorsements, and expedite time-sensitive requests.
  • Manage premium audits, reconcile exposure data, and help clients understand and prepare for audit outcomes.
  • Maintain clean, complete, audit-ready account records in Applied Epic, including activities, attachments, and policy data.
  • Determine what to handle, delegate, or escalate, and keep agency leadership informed about at-risk accounts, coverage disputes, and E&O exposures.
