The Commercial Lines Account Executive will provide exceptional client relationship management, seamless new client implementation, issue resolution, and administrative support. This role is crucial for managing an assigned book of business, supporting new business opportunities, and identifying account rounding and cross-sell potential. The position requires a deep understanding of insurance products and services, excellent communication skills, and a client-focused approach. The Account Executive will take full ownership of client interactions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and care in handling all client requirements. This role reports directly to the Department Director with sales mentorship from the Sales Director.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • Active Ohio Property & Casualty license required
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial lines insurance in an Account Manager or Account Executive role
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial insurance products, policies, and regulatory requirements, with an emphasis on client retention, account growth, and effective issue resolution
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and professionally
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills with a client-first approach to service delivery
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of prioritizing multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, maintaining professionalism and efficiency in both in-office and remote settings
  • Occasional local travel will be required
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check, as permitted by law

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned book of business by proactively engaging with clients, addressing service inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a high level of retention and satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and oversee the onboarding process for new clients by gathering accurate and complete client information, evaluating risk exposures, and working with internal teams and carriers to prepare quotes, proposals, and policy documents.
  • Facilitate policy renewals by collecting updated client and carrier data, creating quotes and proposals, and ensuring timely and accurate Applied Epic system updates and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal lines of business to identify and pursue new business opportunities, providing sales support through service, education, and relationship building.
  • Assist in preparing client-facing materials including claims reviews, renewal proposals, and new business presentations, and conduct client meetings to deliver insights and recommendations.
  • Lead or support issue resolution by coordinating with internal departments and external carriers, escalating concerns to the department director when needed, and ensuring timely follow-up and communication with all involved parties.
  • Maintain accurate records in the agency management system (Applied Epic) by entering new lines of business, updating renewals, and attaching documentation, emails, and activity logs.
  • Support the administrative and operational functions of the department by attending meetings, implementing client contracts, and collaborating with the accounting, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Contribute to the team by assisting colleagues during absences, maintaining a high standard of internal communication, and adhering to company systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Continue personal development and industry knowledge by attending webinars, carrier training sessions, and other continuing education opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
