As a Commercial Lending Assistant, you will perform a variety of duties in support of the Commercial Banking Group. You will interact with Commercial Bankers, other internal department personnel, and third-party providers to complete a variety of tasks associated with the origination of loans and the servicing of existing commercial clients. Your role is to assure that tasks are completed accurately, timely, and professionally to ensure prompt and professional service to internal and external clients. This is a single incumbent position. You will act as a direct contact with clients, commercial bankers, and Loan Operations through the loan process. You will perform a variety of client service activities including responding to requests, researching discrepancies, and resolving issues. You will prepare commitment letters and other related correspondence. You will obtain information related to the loan origination process, including ordering credit reports, appraisals, preliminary titles reports, UCC searches, environmental reports, insurance information, flood certificates, Secretary of State filings, and various other items. You will assist commercial bankers in the preparation of documentation necessary to properly document the credit files and may contribute to the preparation of the loan approval documentation. You will order loan documentation through Loan Operations, review the final documents noting proper rates, terms, and conditions of the loan, and ensure appropriate approvals and actions are taken for a successful loan closing. You will act as a liaison with the Borrower and third-party vendors in coordinating receipt and review of required documents to expedite the closing process. You may assist the commercial bankers with closings. You will conduct a pre-closing and a post-closing file review and forward the file to Loan Operations for booking, scanning, and filing. You will monitor loans, partner with commercial bankers to discuss past due ticklers and records documentation. You will contact clients to request financial information and insurance to support outstanding loans. You will resolve client issues, cross-sell other banking products and services, and schedule meetings and appointments. You will maintain knowledge of banking products and services, as well as knowledge of the industries or market areas served. You will keep abreast of current developments and market trends to further identify and service the client’s needs. You will complete tasks such as filing, photocopying, faxing documents, scanning, and organizing, and maintain supplies. You will follow all applicable laws and regulations. You will remain compliant with bank guidelines, policies, procedures, regulatory, and BSA requirements.
