About The Position

Oshkosh AeroTech is a leading provider of aviation ground support products, gate equipment and airport services to commercial airlines, airports, air-freight carriers, ground handling and military customers. For this position, the Kitchen Maintenance Manager will oversee maintenance of the Newrest Catering Facilities at the IAH Airport in Houston, TX. The role ensures kitchen equipment, HVAC systems, freezers, ice plant, and hot food storage units operate efficiently. It involves responding to emergency maintenance issues that impact meal delivery to airlines, overseeing day-to-day site operations including safety, accounting, human resources, purchasing, and warehouse functions. The manager must be calm under pressure, able to manage urgent, high-impact repairs, and provide direction for all maintenance and administrative workers at the site. The goal is to improve efficiency, profitability, and safety of the operation, while coordinating all formal interfaces with and managing customer expectations, and ensuring consistent leadership and direction for the site. This is a proactive problem-solving role where the manager must anticipate issues before they disrupt airline meal service and maintain full transparency on maintenance activities to the customer. The role also involves providing budgets and financial reports as required and requires being highly organized to balance administrative work alongside operations. Compliance with the company safety program and trainings is mandatory. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience in management, operations, finance, and electrical maintenance
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong understanding (not necessarily hands-on expertise) of: Refrigeration & HVAC systems, Electrical systems, Plumbing & general facility maintenance
  • Computer skills with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, project management, and understanding/knowledge of CMMS
  • Ability to be badged to work in secure areas of an airport
  • Ability to be on-call and work occasional evenings and weekends
