Commercial Kitchen Equipment/Hot Side Technician
About The Position
This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of commercial gas, electric, and steam equipment. This includes all cooking equipment such as combi ovens, convection ovens, track/conveyor ovens, pizza decks, microwaves, tilt skillets, grills, griddles, broilers, electric/gas ranges, fryers & heat systems, steam & water line equipment, and countertop & food prep equipment. The technician will also troubleshoot issues, perform preventative maintenance, and read electrical schematics and blueprints. The position requires participation in an on-call rotation for emergency services. The role relies on management direction and established guidelines, utilizing experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals, with the ability to work and communicate effectively with peers and customers. The technician will also be on call per schedule.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience
- Problem Solving Skills
- Safety Conscious
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written
- Strong listening skills
- Strong computer/technical skills
- Multitasker
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Ability to read/interpret blueprints
- Valid Driver’s License
- OSHA 10
- Must maintain a safe and acceptable driving record at all times

- Well versed with smart devices (e.g. Android phone and tablet)
- CFESA Certification preferred
- Willingness to continue developing skills in the trade
- Willingness to take part in continued related course work
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain a broad spectrum of commercial gas, electric, and steam equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot equipment issues
- Participate on an on-call rotation for emergency service
- Assist with office related duties such as collection calls, shipping and receiving, shop maintenance and other related operational duties when necessary
