About The Position

EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants is seeking an ambitious Commercial Insurance - Technical Assistant to join their Austin, TX Entertainment & Live Events team. This role supports the account management team and offers experience with a wide spectrum of commercial insurance lines including casualty, property, workers comp, E&O, D&O, and Cyber-Liability coverages. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is fascinated by the live entertainment industry, providing best-in-class support and service to clients in the music, live event, film, theater, and production industries.

Requirements

  • At least 1+ year of experience working for an insurance agency, broker or carrier.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in commercial technical assistant role
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of commercial insurance lines
  • Proven ability to handle certificate issuance, policy review and initial underwriting applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidates with strong, professional communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Ideal candidates can successfully pivot between providing detailed and accurate written communication, as well as picking up the phone and having a detailed verbal conversation.
  • Candidates who adapt well to priority changes, deadlines, and consistently are quick to respond to and/or acknowledge communications (both from internal & external sources).
  • Positive and outgoing disposition, eager to work as a team but also functions well working independently.
  • Candidates who adapt well to priority changes, deadlines, and who love problem solving and coming up with solutions and answers to client questions.

Nice To Haves

  • Current property/casualty license is strongly preferred
  • Experience with agency management software (preferably Sagitta)

Responsibilities

  • Effective and timely communication with all clients - email, letters & telephone
  • Assist in the compilation and organization of underwriting information
  • Prepare insurance applications for required coverage lines
  • Put together accurate, timely, professional and compliant insurance summaries
  • Issuance of certificates of insurance and coverage binders
  • Checking and issuing of insurance documentation
  • Preparation of premium invoices and client accounting statements
  • Complete various reports as required throughout the insurance cycle
  • Maintain and update electronic client files
  • Minimized aged debt
  • Such other duties as the Senior or line management may from time to time require
