About The Position

Our Austin, TX Entertainment & Live Events team insures a variety of clients in the music, live event, film, theater, and production industries, and clients' events across the U.S. and world. When unexpected delays, cancellations or other unforeseen circumstances arise, our clients receive best-in-class support and service to mitigate their risks and exposures. We are seeking an ambitious Commercial Insurance - Technical Assistant to join our team to support our account management team & gain experience with a wide spectrum of commercial insurance lines including casualty, property, workers comp, E&O, D&O Cyber-Liability coverages.

Requirements

  • At least 1+ year of experience working for an insurance agency, broker or carrier.
  • Candidates with strong, professional communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Candidates who adapt well to priority changes, deadlines, and consistently are quick to respond to and/or acknowledge communications (both from internal & external sources).
  • Positive and outgoing disposition, eager to work as a team but also functions well working independently.
  • Candidates who adapt well to priority changes, deadlines, and who love problem solving and coming up with solutions and answers to client questions.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in commercial technical assistant role
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of commercial insurance lines
  • Proven ability to handle certificate issuance, policy review and initial underwriting applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Current property/casualty license is strongly preferred
  • Experience with agency management software (preferably Sagitta)

Responsibilities

  • Effective and timely communication with all clients - email, letters & telephone
  • Assist in the compilation and organization of underwriting information
  • Prepare insurance applications for required coverage lines
  • Put together accurate, timely, professional and compliant insurance summaries
  • Issuance of certificates of insurance and coverage binders
  • Checking and issuing of insurance documentation
  • Preparation of premium invoices and client accounting statements
  • Complete various reports as required throughout the insurance cycle
  • Maintain and update electronic client files
  • Minimized aged debt
  • Such other duties as the Senior or line management may from time to time require
