About The Position

EXL Risk Control is seeking self-directed independent contractors with excellent communication skills, computer proficiency, and a commitment to meeting client quality and timeliness standards. Inspectors work from their own home or office and complete onsite survey and inspection assignments in the Cincinnati, Ohio area and other locations within approximately 60 miles of Cincinnati, including areas in Indiana and Kentucky.

Inspectors schedule onsite surveys and prepare risk control reports for insurance industry clients. These reports provide information needed to underwrite commercial insurance policies and may include recommendations to control or correct potential loss-producing conditions. Inspectors manage accepted assignments, secure customer appointments within their local territory, and complete work on time.

Surveys assess commercial operations such as retail businesses, restaurants, hotels, apartments, construction jobsites, churches, and schools. Most surveys focus on Property and General Liability coverage; other lines served include Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability, Inland Marine, and Builders Risk. Fees are negotiable depending on experience and the unique aspects of selected jobs. Candidates without relevant experience may be referred to a 15-hour online certification option to qualify.

Requirements

• Provide a digital camera or tablet, computer, printer, high-speed internet access, reliable vehicle, measuring device, and Auto and General Liability Insurance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in commercial insurance, real estate, inspection, construction, claims, loss control, underwriting, and/or fire and safety.
• Candidates without relevant experience may be referred to a 15-hour online certification option to qualify.
