About The Position

EXL Risk Control is seeking self-directed independent contractors to perform commercial insurance surveys and inspections in the Naples and Bonita Springs, Florida area, including locations within approximately 35 miles. Inspectors work from their own home or office and conduct onsite assignments. They schedule surveys and prepare risk control reports for insurance industry clients. Reports provide information used to underwrite commercial insurance policies and may recommend ways to control or correct potential loss-producing conditions.

Inspectors manage assignments they accept, arrange customer appointments within their local territory, and complete work on time. They evaluate commercial businesses—including retail operations, restaurants, hotels, apartments, construction jobsites, churches, and schools—to identify hazards and improve safety. Surveys primarily assess Property and General Liability coverage, with additional work involving Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability, Inland Marine, and Builders Risk. Fees are negotiable based on experience and the unique aspects of selected jobs. Candidates without relevant experience may be referred to a 15-hour online certification option to qualify.

• Ability to provide a digital camera or tablet, computer, printer, high-speed internet access, reliable vehicle, measuring device, and Auto and General Liability Insurance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in commercial insurance, real estate, inspection, construction, claims, loss control, underwriting, and/or fire and safety.
• A 15-hour online certification option may be available for candidates without relevant experience.

Responsibilities
