About The Position

Greyling Insurance Brokerage & Risk Consulting, a division of EPIC, is a specialty insurance brokerage and risk consulting firm focused on architect and engineering firms. Our leaders have prior experience as practicing construction lawyers, engineers, consultants, and underwriters, giving us unique insight into how A/E firms operate, deliver projects, and manage risks. We specialize in placing large clients into highly profitable group captive programs. We are looking to grow our team and are seeking a Broker to provide day-to-day customer service, complete ad hoc projects, respond to client questions, offer insurance program design and risk consulting advice, and negotiate and implement clients’ insurance programs. Brokers maintain frequent communication with clients and supervise the coordination and execution of the account service plan and routine transactions. The role requires actively cultivating positive client relationships and utilizing all available Greyling resources.

Requirements

  • Current commercial insurance brokering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in working with an Insurance Brokerage.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Position continually requires teamwork, demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Broker’s P&C license is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • CRIS designation
  • Experience working with AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) industries
  • Experience with environmental-related policies and practices
  • Experience in placing insurance for companies in Architect, Engineering & Construction industries is highly desirable.
  • Experience with an agency management system such as Sagitta is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred - experience equivalent will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day customer services, including completing ad hoc projects as needed and responding to client questions.
  • Provide insurance program design and risk-related consulting advice.
  • Negotiate and implement clients’ insurance programs.
  • Communicate frequently with clients and provide day-to-day supervision over the coordination and execution of all facets of both the account service plan and routine transactions.
  • Actively cultivate, improve, and cement positive client relationships.
  • Review documents for client pre-renewal meetings prepared by the account specialist.
  • Coordinate all pre-renewal work completed by other team members.
  • Execute agreed plan established at the pre-renewal meeting, including managing timelines, sending submissions with coverage specifications, negotiating options, and confirming compliance or exceptions to requested coverage.
  • Complete and/or review renewal reports, including coverage and rating plan analyses and other analytical functions.
  • Participate in meetings to present renewal terms/options to the client.
  • Review all renewal documents, including binders, confirmation of coverage, insurance program charts, Sagitta input, and master certificates including endorsements.
  • Maintain all files and electronic records per company policy.
  • Collect all policies and review findings after the Policy Manager has completed the review of the policies.
  • Handle and document mid-term requests such as policy endorsements, provide risk review of contracts, and answer coverage questions.
  • Advocate/assist with client audits and request corrections as necessary.
  • Actively participate in and support Greyling training endeavors.
  • Coordinate the team associated with the client, consisting of the Account Specialist, Contracts & Risk Analyst, Accounting Certificate Specialist.
  • Support work related to new client acquisition such as coverage analysis and report preparation.
  • Support Senior Client Advisor and Client Executive to free up their time enabling higher-level client service.
